Workforce Management Forecaster

Reporting to the Manager of Workforce Management (WFM) Forecasting, the Forecaster role will lead forecasting, capacity planning, strategy, and reporting for the Canada Life Health & Dental Claims area.
The Forecaster will support the H&D Claims Operations leaders by forecasting excess/shortfall staffing capacity, providing variance reporting & analysis, hiring recommendations, and ad hoc analysis required to effectively manage and balance expenses against productivity, quality, and the customer claim experience. They will be a key resource in the annual and monthly forecast/budgeting process to optimize the staffing model, budget, and contribute to H&D Claims transformation initiatives.
What you will do:
- Use our models to forecast Excess/Shortfall Capacity of staff for certain Operations roles, comparing staffing supply with staffing demand
- Forecast claims volumes & workloads, attrition, and shrinkage
- Recommend hiring patterns so that Supply satisfies Demand
- Enhance our forecasts by developing more robust projections of underlying factors like Productivity, Shrinkage, Attrition, Propensity to Claim, Electronic Submission rates, Auto-Adjudication rates, etc.
- Expand model capabilities to refine forecasting to a weekly level (currently monthly)
- Develop new forecast models for roles not yet in our scope
- Work closely with Claims Operations leaders providing critical operational support
- Help management run the business by providing accurate, actionable, and insightful information
- Analyze, develop insights, and recommend improvements that will impact performance
What you will bring:
- University degree in a quantitative or related field of study (such as Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Predictive Analytics, Computational Finance or Engineering) or equivalent work experience
- Experience in data analysis, business process modelling, statistical modelling, or forecasting
- Workforce management experience (claims, contact centre, etc.) considered an asset
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform considered an asset (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint)
- Ability to build strong collaborative relationships with business partners
- Strong communication skills and comfort interacting/presenting with all levels of the organization, including a senior audience
- An enthusiastic approach to improving internal processes, and the client experience

The base salary for this position is between $70,500.00 - $123,300.00 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
