Small Group Renewal Analyst

Be the subject matter expert for Small Group Renewals and ensure the timely and accurate completion of Selectpac and Small Non- Refund renewals. 

This role requires the Analyst to build a comprehensive renewal for the field to present to advisors and clients. The analyst must be knowledgeable enough to respond to and defend a high volume of renewal inquires that range from detailed renewal calculations, to explaining year over year renewal movements and all other ad-hoc inquires. 

Responsible for the accuracy and timely completion of renewals assigned to them. 

 

What you will do

1. Renewal Processing:

  • Ensure and validate that the appropriate manual rate is produced in ARC for more complex renewals
  • Check plan design for accuracy (i.e. rates) 
  • Apply judgement to ensure correct plan design has downloaded in system appropriately
  • Nonstandard renewals/ Red-flagged renewals – Assess and adjust information in MRIS 
  • Consult U/W and/or pricing to gain input on proper pricing factors 
  • Review and analyze prior activity from last renewal and make all necessary adjustments in ARC/MRIS based on correspondence and special handling information 
  • Evaluate premium and claims experience for reasonableness and accuracy; determine the need for and make any necessary adjustments to premium and claims experience 
  • Validate appropriate billed rates history from last renewal 
  • Review and validate amendment activity and ensure appropriate amendment factors have been determined
  • Confirm, correct and calculate correct pooling level and charge 
  • Reach out to necessary parties to collect all enrollment data for self-accounting renewals 
  • Reach out to Field and external parties (TPAs) to request census information. Validate reasonability and work with third party to and input information to allow renewal to run 
  • Calculate Financial Histories on all renewals 

 

2. Client Service & Addressing Field Inquiries: 

  • Effectively and clearly explains and articulates logic and rationale to support and address escalations about the renewal to Field partners; manage confrontational encounters and partner with Field to find an agreeable way forward 
  • Respond to Field inquiries regarding completed and upcoming renewals and make all necessary revisions as required 
  • Investigate, document, test, implement and communicate changes to Renewal team and IS team required because of business and system enhancements 
  • Review and handle escalated renewal requests, process complex work requiring special handling, including renewal anomalies, amendment factors, and application of retroactive rates 

 

3. Continuous Improvement: 

  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements. Consider gaps and provide complete and thoughtful recommendations for consideration to their leader. 
  • Provide support and mentorship to Renewal Assistants or team members; provide direction and guidance as required

  • Community College Diploma 
  • Bilingual French/English is considered an asset
  • Reliability Status security clearance - this is a personnel security status that is required before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website.

The base salary for this position is between  $40,300 - $ 60,400 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
