Senior Business Analyst (12-month contract)

The Disability System Solutions & Modernization team is looking for an experienced, and passionate Senior Business Analyst with experience in business analysis of large-scale projects. This position allows you to work with many different teams within Disability and the larger Workplace Benefits & Retirement organization. 

The Senior Business Analyst works on projects along with our technology partners and various teams within Workplace Benefits & Retirement to transform our operation. This position is suited to an individual who enjoys working in an environment with complex problems, challenging deadlines, drives problems to conclusion and has the desire to become a business and technical expert in the organization. 

 What you will do:  

• Perform analysis on business problems through the lenses of people, process, and technology
• Develop and demonstrate subject matter expertise around our disability systems
• Drive stakeholder engagement by facilitating workshops and interviews to identify and document business needs 
• Develop business process diagrams in BPMN 2.0 for current and future state
• Collaborate with technology stakeholders to ensure understanding of the business requirements, use cases and solution design
• Represent the business to ensure solution delivery is appropriate and meets the needs of the business 
• Presenting recommendations to senior leaders in the organization
• Provide expertise in ambiguous situations, identifying and resolving complex problems.
• Contribute to successful project completion within budget and on time by identifying risks and recommending mitigation strategies

• Skilled at building strong, collaborative relationships at all levels of an organization.
• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, able to tailor communication style to the audience 
• High proficiency with Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and CoPilot.
• Solution focused – enjoys the challenge of problem solving 
• Ability to analyze complex data to determine appropriate course of action towards objectives.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines/competing projects while working independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work with a high degree of detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work through ambiguity
• An enthusiastic team player who enjoys sharing knowledge, experience, and ideas, and is open to the ideas and input of others 
• Commitment to self development

Qualifications:

• Reliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. This is a personal security status that is required as a condition of employment before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada  website.  The cost of submitting these checks will be covered by Canada Life.
• 2-4 years of experience in a Business Analyst or comparable role 
• Post-secondary education in business or a similar/related field, or equivalent experience
• Disability insurance knowledeg is an asset.

The base salary for this position is between $62,800 - $104,700 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
