The Senior Banking Analyst will be a key member of the Banking Operations team. This position is responsible for the administration and maintenance of banking documentation and system (Prolific) access, and processing bank transactions for Canada Life and its subsidiaries. The Senior Banking Analyst provides support to management and is responsible for collaborating with other business units to support business priorities and drive continuous process improvements.
What you will do
- Involved in the administration and maintenance of banking documentation for all bank accounts for Canada Life and its subsidiaries, including the opening/closing of bank accounts, signatories, and completion of other documentation as required by our Financial Institutions
- Responsible for the administration and maintenance of banking related system access and reporting requirements
- Responsible for timely and accurate processing of bank transactions for Canada Life and its subsidiaries
- Involvement in the completion of internal/external audit requests and testing, ICOFR documentation and testing, and quarterly/yearly reporting requests
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of various SAP modules and CS14 (Corporate Disbursement History System)
- Maintain an understanding of lines of business systems which impact bank general ledger accounts
- Collaborate with other business units to support business priorities and drive continuous process improvements
- Support junior staff in problem solving and assists management team with workload balancing
- Responsible for training others in the department
- Participate in and complete special/ad hoc projects and reports, as required
What you will bring
- Completion of post secondary education, specializing in Accounting/Finance, such as Business Administration or B. Comm is an asset
- Well-developed organizational and time management skills, with the ability to deal with fluctuating work volumes
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Minimum 2-4 years of accounting experience, including treasury experience is an asset
- SAP, corporate (GWL) mainframe and experience working with various Financial Institution software applications is required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams)
- Reliability Status security clearance - this is a personnel security status that is required before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website. Required as our team manages all Protected B enrolment data.

The base salary for this position is between $50,400 - $75,600 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
