The Analyst, Bond Investments supports the management of fixed income portfolios by delivering rigorous credit analysis, timely market research, and precise execution support. You will produce decision‑ready insights, uphold our risk and compliance standards, and collaborate with portfolio managers and senior analysts to advance portfolio objectives. This role is located in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
What you will do
- Portfolio Support: Assist in implementing strategies across corporate bonds, structured products, and infrastructure debt; track exposures, performance, and risk metrics (duration, liquidity, credit).
- Credit Analysis & Research: Build and maintain issuer models; analyse annual reports, financial statements, and market/sector data; draft investment notes and recommendations.
- Sector & Macro Monitoring: Track macro trends and sector developments; synthesize implications for credit spreads, rating trajectories, and positioning.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Prepare briefing materials and follow-ups for issuer meetings, investor calls, conferences, and rating‑agency interactions; support relationship tracking with issuers, trustees, and counterparties.
- Compliance & Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation; support regulatory, mandate, and internal policy compliance; compile monitoring packs and audit‑ready files.
- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Partner with senior team members on strategy reviews, outlook presentations, and process enhancements; contribute to team knowledge bases and toolkits.
What you will bring
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field; CFA Level I/II progress preferred.
- 2–4 years of experience in fixed income analysis, credit research, or a closely related investment role.
- Demonstrated proficiency in financial statement analysis and cash‑flow/coverage modelling; strong Excel skills (Bloomberg experience preferred).
- Clear, concise writing and presentation skills with the ability to translate analysis into action.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow‑through in a multi‑deadline environment.
- Collaborative mindset, intellectual curiosity, and professional judgement grounded in risk awareness.
