Asset/Liability Management (ALM) is responsible for ensuring the ongoing appropriateness of the match between the company’s asset portfolio and the general account’s liabilities. This involves measuring, monitoring, and managing ALM risks such as interest rate risk, liquidity risk, foreign currency risk, asset mix diversification, and market risk.
This role supports the ALM Systems team, which is primarily responsible for maintaining data integrity and ensuring system reliability to effectively manage ALM risks. Key responsibilities include supporting data quality initiatives, contributing to system upgrades, and driving process innovation.
As a member of this team, you will collaborate closely with colleagues across ALM and Investment Technology. You’ll bring strong technical skills, a sharp analytical mindset, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. In return, you’ll gain exposure to a variety of stakeholders and will work on engaging, high-impact projects.
What will you do:
Ensure Data Integrity
Maintain the accuracy and completeness of the Investment Data Store (IDS) and the Canadian Asset/Liability Management (CALM) system by designing, monitoring, and implementing validation checks (e.g., asset attributes, asset and liability cashflows). Support daily, weekly, and monthly processes in collaboration with Investment Technology.
Provide Technical Support and Education
Troubleshoot issues and offer technical support for key ALM processes. Deliver training and guidance to ALM team members on data and system usage.
Support System Testing and Implementation
Assist in the testing and rollout of new administrative systems and upgrades to existing platforms, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
Deliver Multi-Period Reporting
Own and manage various reports that support critical functions. Develop and implement automated reporting solutions to enhance efficiency.
Promote ALM Best Practices and Continuous Improvement
Drive continuous improvement in the design, execution, and documentation of deliverables. Focus on enhancing efficiency, quality, and consistency across processes.

Educational Background
Post-secondary education with a background in finance, management information systems, actuarial science, or accounting.

The base salary for this position is between $52,800 - $ 87,900 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
