Director, AI Operations Strategy
Permanent Full Time

We are looking for a Director, AI Operations Strategy, to join the team.
Role description
We are looking for a Director, AIOps to build and then lead the execution of our AIOps strategy. This role will shape how we detect, prevent, and resolve technology issues at scale. This is a hands-on, senior IC role with enterprise-level influence: you’ll set the vision, create the roadmap, and drive measurable outcomes by partnering across Engineering, Operations, Security, Architecture, and Product teams.
What you will do
- Own the AIOps strategy and roadmap: define the target state, guiding principles, prioritized use cases, and multi-quarter delivery plan.
- Identify and deliver high-value AIOps use cases such as anomaly detection, event correlation/noise reduction, predictive incident prevention, automated remediation, and intelligent triage.
- Establish the data foundation needed for AIOps by partnering to integrate logs, metrics, traces, events, and incident/problem data; define data quality standards and governance.
- Select and standardize the AIOps toolchain and patterns (e.g., observability, ITSM/incident workflows, automation/runbooks, ML/AI components), ensuring integration, security, scalability and economies of scale.
- Operationalize models and automation: design experimentation-to-production practices, monitoring for model/automation effectiveness, and feedback loops that continuously improve outcomes.
- Define success metrics and value realization: establish KPIs (MTTR, incident volume reduction, alert quality, change failure rate, automation success, availability) and report progress to senior stakeholders.
- Drive cross-functional execution: align partners, build relationships with our other segments, remove blockers, manage dependencies, and keep delivery on track through clear governance and communication.
- Embed reliability practices: influence incident/problem management improvements, post-incident learning, service ownership, and operational readiness standards.
- Champion responsible AI and risk management: ensure privacy, security, compliance, and audit readiness for AIOps data and automation.
What you will bring
- Deep experience in IT Operations / SRE / Platform / Production Engineering in large-scale, complex environments.
- Proven track record creating strategy and delivering outcomes across multiple teams and stakeholders
- Strong understanding of observability (logs/metrics/traces), event management, incident/problem/change practices, and service reliability.
- Practical experience applying automation and AI/ML to operations problems (signal-to-noise, correlation, prediction, remediation, copilots/assistants).
- Excellent influence, communication, and executive storytelling skills—able to translate technical complexity into business impact.
- Strong systems thinking: ability to design end-to-end operating models, data flows, and controls.
