Role Description 

  

The Manager, Disability Solutions, plays a key role in leading a high-performance team that is keenly invested in delivering a market-leading service experience for our disability customers and operations staff.  You will work in ambiguity, while being able to see the bigger picture and identify dependencies, risks or opportunities across initiatives.

  

What you will do:  

  • Lead a team of business analysts to support ideation, design, development, and testing of new transformational technologies
  • Assist with shaping the strategy and priorities of the disability value proposition by ensuring that changes align with our core drivers of employee experience, customer experience, improved morbidity and efficiency
  • Possess a strong understanding of the disability organization, including products, services, and associated policies, practices, processes and current technology
  • Understand and prioritize the business opportunities that elevate our operations teams and create a competitive advantage  
  • Represent organizational needs with clearly articulated expectations and strong collaboration with technology partners to deliver meaningful outcomes
  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to socialize and ensure alignment on goals as we execute on priority initiatives
  • Act as key contact to keep key business stakeholders apprised of progress and priorities, simplifying complex concepts and communicating in business language
  • Use data, analysis, and insights to identify and evaluate opportunities
  • Drive business case analysis, ensuring that the business opportunity aligns with our objectives, and that we understand the cost drivers, potential benefits, and process improvements as a result of implementing change.
  • Attract, motivate and develop talent to build the right team to meet the strategic direction and tomorrow’s needs 

 

 

What you will bring

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a leadership position along with 5 years of experience in Group Insurance
  • Post-secondary education (non-specialized bachelor’s degree or technology-related community college diploma) or equivalent experience 
  • Solid decision-making skills while working in ambiguity to keep work moving with pace
  • Strong analytical ability with a technical aptitude
  • Proven skills with Excel or other data manipulation tool; solid mathematical literacy/quantitative skill
  • Experience in consulting, project delivery, or business transformation is preferred  
    • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CPAB) or Project Management Professional (PMP) designations are considered an asset
  • Previous experience in introducing new practices, technologies, or other process improvements to enhance operational effectiveness; experience implementing projects from the beginning to end with verified quantified results  
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and succinctly, verbally and through presentations
  • A collaborative mindset to build relationships across functions with demonstrated collaboration and communication with leaders and other individuals across an organization
  • Multi-tasking and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated and able to work independently to identify and surmount obstacles proactively with limited supervision
  • A drive for innovation, fostering an environment that encourages new approaches and challenges the status quo

The base salary for this position is between $74,500- $137,900 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
