Manager, Corporate Financial Reporting

The Manager, Corporate Financial Reporting is a key member of the Global Financial Reporting team responsible for enhancing global financial reporting processes, systems, controls and finance transformation initiatives. This role supports reporting modernization through leadership of the Global Financial Reporting System (GFRS) , SAP reporting applications, and the adoption of new technologies.

 

What you will do:

 

  • Partner with global stakeholders across Finance, Actuarial, and Technology teams in Canada, the U.S., and Europe to enhance financial reporting processes, systems, controls, and data quality.
  • Lead the design, development, implementation, testing and ongoing support of global financial reporting applications, including the adoption and advancement of emerging technologies.
  • Drive enhancements to financial reporting processes and platforms within the SAP landscape, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, governance, and controls.
  • Lead the development and enhancement of reconciliation, exception, and control reporting capabilities to strengthen data integrity, reporting quality, oversight, and governance
  • Oversee the delivery of reporting solutions from requirements gathering through design, testing, implementation, and post-production support.
  • Provide leadership and support during quarter-end reporting cycles, ensuring timely resolution of complex reporting, reconciliation, and data related issues.  
  • Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance reporting effectiveness.
  • Provide training, education, and knowledge transfer to finance and business stakeholders across the organization.
  • Support internal and external audit requests and strengthen governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks.
  • Collaborate with business partners to define future state reporting requirements and influence the direction of financial reporting technology and processes.

 

What you will bring:

  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Commerce, Finance or Accounting. Candidates with a professional accounting designation (Chartered Professional Accountant) will be given preference
  • Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in financial reporting, accounting or finance.   
  • Experience with enterprise-level financial reporting and ERP solutions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with the ability to translate complex business requirements into practical solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex issues, risks and recommendations to stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Experience in fostering a strong team environment, providing leadership and coaching to team members across geographically diverse teams.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with SAP financial reporting applications and technologies is considered an asset.
  • Experience with data transformation, automation and reporting solutions such as Alteryx, Power Query, Power BI, SQL, or similar analytics tools is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of internal controls, financial governance, audit requirements, and regulatory processes is considered an asset.

 

The base salary for this position is between $90,400.00 - $140,400.00 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
