The Health and Dental Claim Solutions team is seeking an experienced, and passionate Business Analyst with experience with small scale projects to join our team and help us achieve our vision of being the best provider of health and dental solutions. This position allows you to work with many different teams within our Health and Dental organization and larger Workplace Solutions Organization.
The Business Analyst will work on projects along with our Workplace Solutions Technology partners and various teams within the Group division to transform our operation. This position is suited to an individual who enjoys working in an environment with complex problems, challenging deadlines, drives problems to conclusion and has the desire to become a business and technical expert in the organization.
What you will do
- Participate in the creation of project business cases including cost benefit analysis as required to determine prioritization of projects and solutions.
- Contribute to successful project completion within budget and on time by identifying risks and recommending mitigation strategies. Project activities may include:
- Creating project plans.
- Discovering business requirements through business process mapping or other methodologies.
- Creating and executing test cases.
- Working with business operations to rollout changes to applications, software or procedures.
- Stakeholder engagement by facilitating workshops and interviews to identify and document business needs.
- Collaborate with technology stakeholders to ensure understanding of the business requirements, use cases and business designs, and obtain sign off to ensure solution delivery is appropriate and meets the needs of the business.
- Develop and demonstrate subject matter expertise around our Health and Dental Systems
- Creating and evaluating test plans and outcomes (results, defects, etc)
- Presenting recommendations to leaders in the organization.
- Support Learning and Development with the development of internal training material.
- Following procedures to complete routine business activities assigned on rotation.
What you will bring
- Minimum of two years in a business analyst or comparable role
- Post secondary education in Business or a similar related field
- Experience in group insurance is an asset
- Ability to work independently on multiple priorities and adhere to tight deadlines.
- Self motivated and solutions focused – problem solving experience.
- Solution focused – enjoys the challenge of problem solving.
- An enthusiastic team player who enjoys sharing knowledge, experience, and is open to providing input into system/process change.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, able to tailor communication style to the audience.
- Commitment to self development.
- Experience in coaching, training, or assisting other staff.
- Knowledge of Group Health & Dental claims and Group Insurance systems is an asset.
- Effective time management skills; Able to work independently and manage multiple deadlines/projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office:(Word, Excel) Access, JIRA, Share Point and Visio software.

The base salary for this position is between $56,000.00 - $83,900.00 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
