Bilingual (Fr/En) Payroll Advisor

We are looking for a Bilingual Payroll Advisor.

 

The Payroll Advisor is responsible for employee data maintenance, responding to pay related inquires that have been escalated from the HR Service Center and providing support to the Payroll Analyst for delivering timely and accurate payroll results to all Canada life employees and retirees.  

 

What you will do

  • Execute various SAP/Success Factors payroll transactions to enable pay to be calculated and processed, while maintaining data integrity
  • Validate and verify payroll results
  • Handle inquiries and provide direction and support to HR business partners and employees, while providing outstanding customer service 
  • Handle inquiries from external sources such as Canada Revenue Agency, Revenu Quebec, Service Canada
  • Issue Records of Employment
  • Remit garnishment payments to third party vendors including, but not limited to, Canada Revenue Agency, Revenu Quebec, Family Responsibility Office

What you will bring

  • Bilingualism (French, English) is required to answer calls from French and English speaking customers across Canada
  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline (payroll, business, accounting etc) or a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a payroll or similar environment
  • Certified Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP), or willingness to enroll in the National Payroll Institute designation program
  • SAP/Success Factors knowledge is an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proven accuracy and attention to detail
  • Well-developed time management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: Montreal, London, Winnipeg.

The base salary for this position is between  $46,200 - $76,600 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
