The Customer Insights team is seeking an Associate Manager to lead the Health & Dental reporting function for our large, strategic Workplace Benefits clients.

 

In this role, you will use your leadership skills, analytical skills, technical abilities, and customer-centric mindset to provide reporting & insights that will help our clients understand their benefits plan experience.

 

What you will do

 

    • Lead strategic client reporting:
        • Lead and coach a team of Analysts responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of recurring and ad-hoc reporting for large Workplace Benefits clients.
        • Ensure reporting outputs translate complex claims data into meaningful insights that help clients understand their benefits plan experience and cost drivers.
        • Deliver client-facing presentations, including in-person sessions, to support customer understanding of trends in their claims experience.
    • Evolve reporting tools and capabilities:
        • Translate business and customer needs into technical requirements, ensuring reporting solutions are well architected, reliable, and aligned with enterprise data standards.
        • Design, enhance, and maintain reporting and analytics solutions that leverage modern data platforms, BI tools, and automation to enable proactive, timely, and self-serve insights.
        • Apply strong technical judgment to diagnose and resolve reporting and data issues, including data quality, performance, and integration challenges.
        • Partner closely with Technology, Canada Data, and other internal teams to support the deployment of new data products, reporting tools, and platform enhancements.
    • Advance insights through thought leadership
        • Contribute to research on emerging industry topics and how they appear in our claims data, informing reporting enhancements and developing content for external publications.
        • Stay current on the evolution of our products and services to ensure our data and insights remain relevant.
    • Engage and develop your team
        • Support the development and training of team members
        • Help foster a customer-focused mindset within the team 
        • Foster a culture of high performance and accountability within the team

 

 What you will bring

 

    • 5+ years of experience working with raw, complex data, including data exploration, transformation, and modeling of large datasets to support trusted, decision‑ready analytics, ideally in workplace/group benefits 
    • Knowledge of health and dental benefits and industry trends is considered an asset
    • Strong technical leadership skills, with the ability to set direction, influence solution design, and provide guidance to analysts and technical partners.
    • A customer‑focused mindset, paired with the technical discipline to design solutions that balance usability, performance, and long‑term sustainability.
    • Advanced technical expertise in data and analytics, including hands‑on experience with modern BI and data tools such as Power BI, SQL‑based databases (e.g., SQL Server), and analytical programming languages (SQL, Python, and/or R).
    • Strong understanding of reporting and semantic design principles, including performance optimization, data consistency, and self‑serve enablement.
    • Exceptional communication skills, with proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
    • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with comfort navigating ambiguity, multiple stakeholders, and evolving requirements.
    • Reliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. This is a personal security status that is required as a condition of employment before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada  website. The cost of submitting these checks will be covered by Canada Life.

The base salary for this position is between $80,400 - $130,400 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
