Assistant Manager, Investment Management Reporting

The Assistant Manager, Investment Financial Reporting, supports management reporting for the company’s investment portfolio, with a focus on segmented reporting for the Canadian division. This role requires strong financial analysis and management reporting skills, including the ability to identify key drivers, explain results clearly, and provide insights to support decision-making. The role will also support segmented balance sheet reporting, investment income allocation, LICAT reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
What you will do:
- Prepare and review segmented investment reporting, including segmented balance sheets, investment income allocation, and supporting analysis.
- Support regulatory and management reporting processes, including LICAT reporting and related analysis.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and planning activities for investment income and investment balances.
- Analyze investment activity and holdings to support management decision-making and financial reporting.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and control environment of reporting processes.
- Review work prepared by team members and provide coaching and guidance to support development.
- Support senior management reporting through the preparation of financial analysis, commentary, and presentations
What you will bring:
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics or similar
- CPA designation preferred
- Experience in management reporting, financial analysis, or a related finance role.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify key drivers and explain financial results.
- Experience preparing financial analysis, commentary, and reporting for management.
- Strong Excel skills and a process improvement mindset, with experience identifying opportunities to improve, automate, and streamline reporting processes.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, segmented reporting, investment reporting, or regulatory reporting is an asset.
- Familiarity with IFRS and SAP would be considered an asset.
The base salary for this position is between $59,800.00 - $99,700.00 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
