Role Description:
We’re looking for an AVP, Investment Operations who will be a key leader of a professional accounting and finance team. The role collaborates and partners with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to drive efficient and effective day-to-day investment operations, as well as complex strategic programs impacting the Company’s segregated funds and general account assets.
What you will do:
- Lead and oversee the business-critical daily pricing and valuation processes for the segregated funds and general account investment operations teams to support external and internal stakeholder requirements.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to accelerate the development of team members through a clear and compelling vision, establishment of goals, performance measurement and continuous feedback.
- Lead the departmental budget and strategic business plan, including prioritization of projects, tasks and assignment of resources.
- Support strategic initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of global investment operations.
- Build collaborative business partnerships with numerous internal partners including Front Offices, Middle Office, Investment Fund Administration, Product Development, Workplace Solutions, Individual Wealth, Legal, Taxation, Audit, Compliance, Asset Liability Management, Finance and Accounting.
- Develop and cultivate effective relationships with external business partners including custodians, investment managers, technology and market data vendors, and other key stakeholders.
- Ensure an effective internal control environment, including coordination of internal and external audit requirements.
- Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycle processes and reporting, for internal business partners, external reporting purposes, and board and investment committee reporting.
- Deliver operational tactical and strategic improvements to encourage innovation, effectiveness and resiliency.
What you will bring:
- 10+ years of finance or investment operations leadership experience
- CPA is recommended – open to CFA charterholder with relevant investment operations experience
- Strong communication skills to drive relations with a variety of internal and external stakeholders (vendors, banking partners, senior leadership, etc.)
- Excellent people leadership skills to motivate, drive, and lead a broad team through a constantly evolving and complex environment
- Highly motivated with the ability to lead and make collaborative decisions in a fast-paced highly regulated entity
- Experience leading and driving a variety of project initiatives, ideally with a focus on investment operations
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills to lead the delivery of multiple deliverables
- Ability to anticipate, analyze, and clearly articulate complex projects, initiatives, and assignments efficiently and effectively
- Adaptability within a changing and evolving environment
The base salary for this position is between $111,000 - $185,000 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
