The Regional Vice President, Insurance Distribution (Western Canada) is responsible for the leadership of the sales teams across the Western region, accountable for delivering profitable growth through our distribution channels. This role will motivate and lead the team to achieve exceptional advisor and distribution partner experiences in support of regional sales, persistency, and profitability targets.
You will lead a diverse team of insurance distribution and wholesaling professionals and will be supported by a sales management team who report directly to you. You will set the tone for your team in representing and building a high-performance workplace, steeped in principles of respect, empowerment, high employee engagement and personal accountability—living the Canada Life values: We Step Up. What you will do
The incumbent will be accountable for delivering insurance distribution growth across Western Canada, meeting persistency targets and achieving regional profitability requirements and will:

Own and execute the regional distribution strategy for Western Canada, including segmentation, territory coverage, and annual business planning

Deliver on territory sales targets and successfully manage the regional distribution budget, forecasting and pipeline cadence

Grow productive advisor, broker, and distribution partner relationships across Western Canada through disciplined sales management and joint business plans

Personally manage executive relationships with key distribution partners and top producers to drive share of wallet, placement, and retention

Drive sales force effectiveness through recruiting/activation, coaching, performance management, and producer productivity programs

Build partnerships and strong working relationships with Regional Service leadership and internal partners (marketing, operations, underwriting/case support) to deliver an exceptional producer experience

Travel regularly across Western Canada for in-person meetings with advisors, brokers, and distribution partners to develop key relationships and grow the visibility of Canada Life

Play a meaningful role in the strategic direction of Distribution through input and participation in senior leadership meetings

Ensure full use and commitment to Head Office strategies, tools, and sales enablement programs across the Western Canada teams

Lead a regular operating cadence (strategy, planning, and results) to monitor progress, remove barriers, and accelerate performance

Partner with Head Office business leaders to maximize regional opportunities, resolve issues, and ensure strong sales practices and policy adherence

What you will bring
5+ years of experience in a sales or wholesaling role within the financial services industry, and in addition:

Accountable to the Western Canada region; the ideal candidate will be located in Vancouver, with regular travel across the West
-
Strong leadership experience including sales/wholesaling staff supervision, developing team effectiveness, executing tactical plans
-
Experience developing, implementing, and executing talent strategies to drive an engaged high-performing team
-
Strong relationship building skills
-
Ability to effectively prioritize; use time management and organizational tools

Skilled communicator with the ability to articulate and champion the insurance distribution value proposition with advisors and distribution partners
