Technology Strategy and Transformation Office Intern (Student Position)

This is a student position that is 4 months in duration for the term May-August. You must be a student registered in a Canadian College or University.
This position is for students returning to school after their work term or requiring a placement as requirements for graduation. While not required, preference will be given to students enrolled in a registered Co-op program.

We are looking for a motivated and curious Technology Strategy and Transformation Office Intern to support the Office of the CIO, part of the Technology Strategy and Transformation Office. This role provides hands‑on exposure to how technology strategy, performance, and governance are shaped, tracked, and communicated at the most senior levels of the organization.
You will work alongside experienced leaders to support executive reporting, technology performance management, governance enablement, and strategic initiatives that span multiple technology and business teams. Your work will directly contribute to clearer decision‑making, stronger accountability, and the development of future technology talent.
What You’ll Do
Executive Reporting & Insights
- Support the development of clear, concise, and compelling executive-level materials for senior audiences, including the Board, Global CIO, segment CIOs, QBRs, and governance forums
- Help evolve and deliver technology performance and scorecard reporting, ensuring information is streamlined, accurate, and decision ready.
- Assist in synthesizing data and inputs from multiple sources into actionable insights that highlight progress, risks, and priorities.
Technology Performance & Accountability
- Support the maintenance and analysis of annual scorecards, metrics, and KPIs tied to technology and leadership priorities.
- Help track progress against commitments, identify trends, and prepare summaries that reinforce accountability and transparency.
Governance & Ways of Working
- Assist in strengthening technology strategy governance, including documentation, cadence materials, and decision-support artifacts.
- Support programs and leaders in setting up clear structures, ways of working, and reporting expectations.
- Contribute to process documentation and governance playbooks that improve consistency and decision quality.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Analyze existing processes and reporting workflows to identify opportunities to simplify, automate, or eliminate redundancy.
- Support initiatives that leverage automation or AI-enabled improvements to increase efficiency and improve information sharing
Talent, Learning & Collaboration
- Support the evolution of the Technology co-op / intern program, including improved onboarding, experience design, and feedback loops.
- Assist with planning and coordination of signature student events, learning sessions, and engagement activities.
- Contribute to learning & leadership (L&L) initiatives that enhance collaboration and build technology capabilities across teams.
Project & Team Support
- Provide general project support including tracking actions, preparing materials, coordinating inputs, and following up on deliverables.
- Assist with documentation such as process maps, templates, user guides, and presentation materials.
What You’ll Be Working With
Your work may involve some of the following tools or areas (experience in all is not required):
- Reporting & Analysis: Power BI, Excel, SharePoint, Power Automate
- Presentations: PowerPoint, Think cell (asset)
- Collaboration & Documentation: Teams, SharePoint, Confluence, and Power Automate/ Power Apps
- Ways of Working: Governance forums, scorecards, metrics, workflow mapping, strategic planning artifacts
- Technical Skills: Experience with automation or AI-enabled process improvements
What You Bring
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program (second year or higher) in Business, Commerce, Economics, Analytics, Technology Management, or a related field.
- Work experience in consulting or Technology field is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to connect data to meaningful insights.
- Ability to structure information clearly for senior audiences.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfort working with diverse stakeholders and Senior Leadership
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel; experience with Power BI, Think-cell, automation tools, or data visualization is an asset.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, strategic environment.

The base salary for this position is between $48,000 - $71,900 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
For our student opportunities, the base salary will be dependent on the number of work terms you have completed along with other factors depending on your program.
