Senior Social Media Specialist (18 Month Contract)

We’re looking for a strategic, creative, and performance-driven Senior Social Media Specialist to elevate our brand and lead the next phase of our social media evolution. This role goes beyond posting—it’s about driving engagement, guiding strategy, mentoring junior team members, and collaborating across departments to tell compelling stories that build trust with Canadians.
Reporting to the Manager, Paid Media & Social Media Marketing, You’ll act as a key partner to our marketing, brand, and communications teams while owning the day-to-day execution and performance of our social media presence.
What you will do:

Lead organic and paid social strategy across platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, etc.) to support brand and product campaigns

Manage day-to-day execution, including marketing intake requests, content planning, publishing, community management, and performance measurement reporting

Mentor and guide junior social team members, providing direction, feedback, and quality control

Partner with creative and content teams to deliver scroll-stopping, brand-aligned creative

Collaborate with performance marketing, product marketing, and internal comms to align social with broader campaign goals

Work closely with media agencies and platform reps to stay ahead of trends and innovations

Own reporting and insights, using data to optimize and drive results

Manage social governance, risk, and compliance in partnership with legal and compliance teams
What you will bring:

Post-secondary (college or university) degree, preferably with a focus on communications, journalism, PR and/or digital marketing

Proven experience managing paid campaigns in social media
-
Experience working with social media publishing and measurement tools, including the ability to understand & interpret social media analytics to drive strategy.

Self-motivated, organized and able to multi-task and prioritize jobs to meet deadlines

Ability to facilitate working group meetings with stakeholders to understand key messages and content and translate those into compelling social media stories

Must enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment

Strong project management and attention to detail

Thrives in a culture of curiosity, creativity, collaboration, speed, innovation, excellence and a fun work environment

Excellent writing and editing skills with a strong grasp of CP Style.

Knowledge and understanding of search engine optimization and strategy preferred.

Bilingual in French and English is preferred.

Critical thinking skills, knowledgeable of the ever-changing and emerging and social media marketing trends that will impact the business

Ability to identify new areas of growth within social for our brands

Ability to interpret social performance metrics, apply learnings to drive decisions and optimize content

Provide insights to business partners for future recommendations

Ability to identify the business need/goal and provide a digital marketing solution to meet/exceed the need

Act as a champion social media space, present and communicate the benefits of including social within a digital marketing plan

Proficiency in various social platforms (Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Hootsuite etc.) web analytics, digital marketing (PPC) experience a plus

The base salary for this position is between $58,600- $97,700 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
