Reporting to the Director, Risk and Compliance Initiatives, you will be responsible for providing design and facilitation support for training on Risk and Regulatory Programs.
Leveraging industry best practices, you will work with Learning and Development and Compliance and Risk Experts to develop a Business Risk and Controls learning program.
Key Deliverables/ Accountabilities
- Act as the training subject matter expert for Business Risk and Controls by keeping abreast of regulatory, industry and Canada Life requirements.
- Complete an assessment of current practices and identify opportunities against Industry and Regulatory requirements with support from the second line
- Identify and prioritize development of Learning programs through a variety of delivery models (Webinars, Podcasts and Videos etc.) to support all four Business Risk and Control teams to improve knowledge and capabilities.
- Align training development and execution with the department’s strategic plan
- Design and execute training tailored to the audience
- Develop reporting and key metrics to support your area of focus and enable measurement of progress and improvements.
- Act as a support for the Business Risk and Control teams by supporting launch of frameworks, new approaches and procedures to reinforce consistent execution of programs.
- Perform other duties as needed to support these accountabilities and to support the goals of the department
What you will bring
- Understanding of compliance and risk management practices
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in a financial services role, with a focus on compliance and operational risk.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to support collaboration across time zones, particularly between Canada and India.
- Experience researching and interpreting regulations and legislation and communicating requirements to stakeholders is an asset.
- Proven ability to identify, assess, communicate, and address business risks and control gaps.
- Skilled in evaluating policies, processes, and systems to identify risk and control deficiencies.
- Strong relationship-building and influencing skills across diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Highly organized with attention to detail; able to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Power BI is an asset.

The base salary for this position is between $67,000 - $117,400 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
