Canada Life is seeking a Senior IT Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to support actuarial applications and reporting platforms within Corporate Actuarial Technology portfolio. This role reports directly to the Director, Technical Solutions, providing the opportunity for strong visibility and meaningful impact within a highly specialized domain.

The IT BSA will work closely with actuarial partners, SAP delivery teams, and technical leads to support application stability, enhance reporting capabilities, and contribute to SAP HANA, XSA, Fiori, and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) solutions.

This is a hands‑on analysis and support role focused on requirements gathering, functional documentation, testing, data validation, and coordinating delivery efforts across global teams.

 

What will you do:

  • Work with actuarial and finance teams to gather and document reporting and application requirements.
  • Assist in creating functional specifications, data mapping documents, and report requirements.
  • Support end‑to‑end delivery from analysis through implementation and testing.
  • Provide day‑to‑day functional support for SAP actuarial applications built on SAP HANA, XSA, and Fiori.
  • Help resolve issues, perform basic analysis, and support application enhancements.
  • Maintain documentation and support run‑books for application operations.
  • Assist in supporting SAP HANA and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) reporting solutions.
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation checks, and report testing.
  • Ensure reporting outputs align with business and regulatory expectations.
  • Contribute to defining functional and UAT test scenarios.
  • Execute test cases, validate results, and support defect resolution.
  • Work with technical teams and senior BSAs to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Produce clear documentation including requirements, test cases, support guides, and change logs.
  • Participate in release management, governance, and production support cycles under the guidance of senior team members.

 

What will you bring:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in insurance, financial services, or related fields.
  • Exposure to SAP HANA applications or enterprise data platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret reporting and data requirements.
  • Experience working with cross‑functional teams in a global or distributed environment.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with SAP XSA, Fiori, or SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
  • Experience with actuarial or finance reporting systems.
  • Understanding of regulatory or actuarial data environments.
  • Exposure to test management tools or business process documentation frameworks.

The base salary for this position is between $80,400 - $130,400 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
