The Senior Business Systems Analyst is responsible for leading the analysis of business problems and developing requirements, product and process specifications and contribution towards solution design.
The Senior Business Systems Analyst champions and contributes to the development of analysis standards, tools, processes and best practices.
This role serves as the bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, translating business needs into functional and technical requirements. The role is responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, defining solution requirements, and supporting the delivery of technology solutions that align with organizational objectives.
What you will do
The Senior IT Business Systems Analyst maintains a “business perspective” through all phases of the problem resolution and systems enhancement. Senior IT Business Systems Analysts work closely with the business to understand their needs, opportunities and requirements. Working in a team environment, the Senior IT Business Systems Analyst is responsible for:
- Build strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders
- Act as a trusted advisor for business process and technology improvements.
- Leading and orchestrating overall analysis, scoping, estimating and planning for large or complex initiatives, including elicitation and validation of business requirements and dependencies
- Leads and facilitates meetings, walkthroughs, workshops, and reviews of deliverables
- Present recommendations, findings, and project updates to leadership.
- Facilitate decision-making and conflict resolution.
- Ensures solutions and configurations meet business requirements and enterprise-level policy guidance (e.g. architecture, security, risk) and ensures the translation of those processes, needs and requirements into related artifacts and documentation
- Defining business problems/opportunities, providing a clear definition and performing benefit analysis
- Develops and validates solution design, configuration or package criteria with business stakeholders, articulating logical design alternatives and recommending appropriate solutions
- Partners with the QA team to ensure test strategies, plans and processes align with the business requirements and enables efficiencies in the work or testing process
- Performs functional testing of system enhancements and supporting user acceptance testing of changes, within compliance controls and standards
- Partners with product owners and/or architects to develop technical requirements and engineering/non-functional specifications
- Provides leadership by fostering and mentoring, an inspiring team environment
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Assist with release planning and implementation activities
What you will bring
- Degree in related discipline (Finance Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, etc.) or equivalent combination of training and experience with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in a senior business analysis role.
- Extensive knowledge of finance processes and business operations, coupled with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to partner effectively across diverse functional areas
- Proven leadership and internal consulting skills, with a commitment to customer service
- Excellent understanding of general IT project methodologies, processes and practices
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC)
- Experience working in Agile, Scrum, and/or Waterfall environments.
- Experience with enterprise applications, integrations, and data analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills that rely on a structured approach
- Proficient with data modelling techniques and tools, data mapping from source systems
- Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure in an individual and team environment
- Communicates effectively in writing and verbally with focus on attention to detail

The base salary for this position is between $90,800 - $110,400 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
