The Senior Auditor, Technology Audit is responsible for effective delivery of a portfolio of audits for Canada Life. Reporting to the Director, Technology Audit, you will support a team of Audit Professionals in executing detailed audit plans, that identify potential areas risk by assessing the adequacy of internal controls, determining compliance with government regulations and internal policies and procedures, evaluating efficiency and effectiveness of operations, and identifying improvement opportunities and working with business partners to ensure appropriate risk mitigation. As part of a team committed to innovation, you will take part in establishing new ways of working, such as agile auditing techniques and data analytics, to deliver high quality impactful audits.
What you will do
Reporting to the Director of Technology Audit, the Senior Auditor, Technology Audit will support the achievement of Internal Audit’s vision to provide bold insights for a company that delivers on its promises to customers, by:
- Carrying out audit planning, test program development, execution, and reporting, including:
- Identifying risk and assessing control adequacy for ITGC.
- Recommending appropriate strategies to optimize risks and benefits.
- Business application development internal control reviews.
- Performing data analytics by defining problem statements, identifying relevant datasets, and leveraging data analytics tools available to derive insights.
- Developing high-quality reports and presentations suitable for a range of stakeholders.
- Using of agile auditing techniques and data analytics.
- Managing time budgets for assigned audits and communicating status.
- Leading and/or participating in professional practice and improvement initiatives.
- Creating and maintaining a positive work environment.
- Cultivating business relationships and working collaboratively with other functional areas.
What you will bring
- University degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent required.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience auditing systems processes, risk management and control practices, with a minimum of 2 years of technology audit experience.
- Strong working knowledge and skill sets in auditing applications, data, project, and governance.
- Basic knowledge of IT Governance frameworks (ie: COBIT, ITIL, NIST, OSFI Self-Assessment, ISO 2700x) is required.
- In-depth hands-on technical knowledge of Networking, Mainframe, Unix, and Windows environments is an asset.
- Working towards CISA certification is required. CISM, CRISC, CISSP, CIA designations are considered assets.
- Familiarity with use of data analytics considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a large international team.
- Ability to work with minimal oversight.
- Excellent time management skills.

The base salary for this position is between $58,700 - $108,700 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
