Senior Analyst Data & Analytics

As a key member of the Strategic Data team, this role will lead and support initiatives that enhance our data ecosystem across data warehouse environments and Azure platforms. You will play a critical role in managing complex client and advisor transactional data to ensure a 'single source of truth'.

 

The Senior Data Analyst will deliver actionable analysis and insights, design scalable solutions, and champion data governance practices. Acting as a subject matter expert, you will guide the team in improving processes, products, and services through data mining, analysis, and thoughtful problem-solving. Success in this role requires strong collaboration, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate complex problems into clear, executable solutions.

 

What you will do 

  • Collaborate with business partners and technical team to translate complex requirements into clear, actionable deliverables
  • Build, optimize, and maintain data models and dashboards using Power BI and SQL
  • Work with large datasets from multiple systems, including those that are inconsistent, unclean or not fully modelled
  • Develop deep familiarity with datasets stored across various platforms and source systems
  • Partner with the technical team on strategic data initiatives and improvements to data quality
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and alignment with governance and compliance standards
  • Identify opportunities to streamline data workflows and implement automation to enhance efficiency
  • Support ad hoc data inquiries and provide clear, concise analysis to drive confident decision‑making across the organization

 

What you will bring

  • University or College degree in Math, Business, Finance, Database management or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with Python, R
  • Proficiency in PowerBI and data visualization best practices
  • Experience with Databricks and/or Azure synapse is an asset
  • Strong presentation & communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts
  • Knowledge of the organization’s distribution channels, products, systems, and data is an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines
  • Problem-solver with the ability to think outside the box and identify solutions to overcome obstacles

 

Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: Toronto and London.

The base salary for this position is between $80,400 - $130,400 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
