Portfolio Analyst

Support the Canada Life Investment Management portfolio management team on the portfolio management of CLIML’s asset allocation funds.  The Performance Analyst will be integral in the process of the team’s objective of delivering strong long-term risk adjusted returns and ensuring that the funds continue to be competitive relative to peers and benchmarks.    

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Ensure the Canada Life asset allocation funds continue to adhere to their IPS and stated mandates
  • Ensure internal and external stakeholders are equipped with timely and relevant reporting and commentary on the Canada Life asset allocation funds
  • Ensure accurate fund of fund trades are implemented and portfolios are positioned according to targets.
  • Develop actionable recommendations to the PSG team on fund/manager changes, asset allocation and portfolio modeling enhancements to the Canada Life asset allocation funds so the funds continue to remain competitive.
  • Contribute to the ongoing oversight of funds/sub-advisors utilized within the asset allocation portfolios 
  • Contribute to and support ongoing portfolio management, industry and competitive research

 WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • 2+ years performance evaluation, portfolio rebalancing, trading, management, operations
  • 2+ years of experience conducting performance analytics using Morningstar Direct, eVestment alliance, or other industry fund analytics databases
  • Knowledge and experience in performance measurement and attribution analysis techniques and preferably coding experience using Python
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the mutual fund and segregated fund industry, including features and options of mutual funds, segregated funds, alternative investments, and ETFs
  • Experience in constructing and advising on investment and regulatory documentation including Investment Policy Statements, prospectuses, MRFPs, fund facts, etc. would be highly beneficial
  • Interest in pursuing an industry designation such as CFA, CIPM, CAIA, CIM, MBA.

The base salary for this position is between  $59,900 - $ 95,300 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
