The Director, Technology Delivery, QE reporting to the Applications Delivery organization will be accountable for transforming the Applications Delivery organization from Quality Assurance to Quality Engineering with a focus on end-to-end delivery. This leadership role requires deep automation knowledge + experience and will drive the organization from manual to fully automated testing across a variety of platforms. This role plays a pivotal role in leading large-scale initiatives spanning multiple products, managing cross-functional onshore and offshore teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality solutions.

  

What you will do 

 

  • Develop and manage organizational expertise within the QE Delivery discipline
  • Drive and manage the adoption of QE Practices, Capabilities and KPI’s
  • Oversee initiatives spanned across varied complexity, managing cross-functional onshore and offshore teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality solutions
  • Drive consistency of knowledge and skills, sharing best practices and common challenges, while bringing in the industry best practices
  • Drive new innovative and emerging technology with the centralized QE practice and platform
  • Review and drive workforce automation capabilities
  • Build test strategy and test plan and oversee in-sprint and End to End testing automation progress and provide mentorship and guidance to the team
  • Drive automation and engineering improvements that will accelerate delivery, increase quality, and reduce maintenance and change fail rates. 
  • Drive a high-performance culture for staff and promote culture changes within the organization. 
  • Build strong and trusted relationships with internal and external partners ie: third party vendors where applicable. 
  • Manage risk and compliance in accordance with Canadian and Global standards. Ensure alignment/ adherence to Enterprise technology standards, vendor management standards, and risk standards.   
  • Drive an agile mindset within the team that measures progress over perfection. 

 

What you will bring 

 

  • Post Secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Deep expertise in quality engineering principles (e.g., shift-left testing, test automation, performance testing, CI/CD, DevOps, accessibility).
  • 10+ years of experience with and knowledge of automation tools, frameworks, and methodologies (e.g., Selenium, Appium, TestNG, Jenkins, etc.).
  • Experience in defining and implementing organizational level strategies
  • Knowledge and experience in the QE/QA domain
  • Experience in people management for a large team
  • Experience working across organizations and business units
  • Experience in managing budget and demand
  • Demonstrated experience with both Agile and traditional project management approaches.
  • Skilled in coaching team members in the areas of performance, standards and work methods
  • Ability to create an atmosphere of trust and a comfortable/ efficient work environment
  • Embraces and advocates Change and Continuous improvement

The base salary for this position is between $127,200 - $177,200 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
