Actuarial Student

This is a student position that is 4 months in duration for the term September-December. You must be a student registered in a Canadian College or University. 

This position is for students returning to school after their work term or requiring a placement as requirements for graduation. While not required, preference will be given to students enrolled in a registered Co-op program.

As an Actuarial Student you are a key member of a highly respected, professional, actuarial team and will have an opportunity to work in the Internal Audit, and Funds Product Design & Pricing departments. This is a hybrid role based in Toronto, requiring the candidate to work on-site at our office three times a week.  

 

Qualifications

  • Working towards a University degree (preferably with a major in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Finance)
  • Strong achievements in academic studies
  • Demonstrated commitment to passing SOA/CIA exams
  • Innovative problem-solver
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Well organized, delivering accurate work with an attention to detail, in a timely manner
  • Team player who is also comfortable working independently
  • Advanced Excel, Word, VBA and MS Access skills
  • Experience using Moody's AXIS would be an asset
  • Knowledge or interest in market risk, investments and life insurance/reinsurance

The base salary for this position is between  $51,600 - $101,400 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
