National Securities Specialist
The National Securities Specialist delivers comprehensive securities solutions and exceptional client service to clients of Canada Life’s mutual fund dealer network. This role supports the Securities Accommodation Program by partnering with advisors and clients to enhance the overall investment experience, provide informed investment guidance, and ensure alignment with client financial goals, risk tolerance, and regulatory requirements.
What you will do:
Client Advice & Relationship Management
- Provide investment advice aligned with client goals, risk tolerance, and regulatory requirements
- Conduct Know Your Client (KYC) reviews and suitability assessments
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive engagement
- Deliver a high-quality, consistent client experience
Transaction Execution & Account Management
- Facilitate trading and order placement across equities, ETFs, mutual funds, GICs, and fixed income products
- Maintain and service client accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Support complex transactions (e.g., registered plans, income products, unlocking requests)
Program Support & Business Development
- Contribute to the evolution and effectiveness of the Securities Accommodation Program
- Identify opportunities to enhance client engagement and grow share of wallet
- Promote digital adoption (e.g., client portals, e-delivery)
- Support targeted client outreach and marketing initiatives
Collaboration & Partnering
- Work closely with Advisors, Compliance, Operations, and Business Development teams
- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated wealth solutions
- Refer clients to insurance, banking, and other wealth solutions as appropriate
Risk & Compliance Management
- Ensure adherence to CIRO regulations, securities laws, and internal policies
- Maintain strong governance practices in all client interactions and transactions
- Escalate and address risks appropriately
What you will bring:
- 3–5+ years of experience in financial services, investment advisory, or wealth management
- Experience working with both clients and financial advisors
- Proven ability to deliver strong client outcomes in a client-facing role
- Successful completion of CIRO’s new proficiency model for Registered Representatives which came into effect on January 1, 2026 or Completion of CSI’s Canadian Securities and Conducts and Practices Handbook courses if previously licensed prior to January 2026; Completion of 90 Day Training program (to commence immediately after hire) and Completion of the Wealth Management Essentials Course (within 24 months of approved date as an RR) is preferred.
- Completion of relevant certificate, diploma or designation programs such as Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designations, an asset
- Post-secondary degree or equivalent work experience, an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Well-developed presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Quick thinking and innovative.
- Sound working knowledge of MS Office products, trading platforms and the ability to understand, explain and breakdown key market data, Salesforce.

The base salary for this position is between $56,800 - $86,800 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
