The Manager, Supplier Service Delivery supports the AVP, Technology Supplier Relationship in overseeing key supplier relationships to ensure governance, risk, compliance and audit frameworks are implemented and related activities are executed.
You will be responsible to design, implement, and onboard operational processes that govern critical engagements to ensure contractual obligations are met and inherent risks are mitigated.
This role requires a strong strategic thinker who can challenge the status quo. A self-starter who possesses strong communication, analytical, and presentation skills is necessary for the successful candidate. You will be required to liaise with Business and Technology leaders, suppliers, and other internal stakeholders to ensure processes and controls are documented, implemented, and updated as required. You need to be a passionate advocate of continuous improvement, always looking for efficiencies and improving effectiveness of processes.
What you will do
- Partner with Canada Life leaders and teams to ensure key suppliers are governed and managed according to criticality and risk.
- Assess and make recommendations to guide the use and maturity of automation and tools to improve overall productivity.
- Design, document, and implement optimal processes to ensure oversight effectiveness of key supplier engagements.
- Provide guidance on oversight best practices, including the why and how best to implement, acting as the subject matter expert.
- Provide necessary information to second line functions as required; working with leads to ensure alignment to policies and programs.
- Work with internal audit on requests, coordinating response, developing action items based on audit findings, and consulting as appropriate.
- Ensure the continued improvement and relevance of processes and practices.
- Contribute to policy development – including updating and creating policies, standards, and process documents where appropriate.
- Effectively interpret industry and corporate requirements and policies (regulatory – OFSI B-10, regional, and internal).
What you will bring
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in business or technology, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- 10+ years' experience in supplier management, technology service delivery, and/or technology governance systems and processes
- Has a bias to action and is highly motivated to discover innovative operational approaches
- Ability to influence others at all levels of an organization with proven leadership skills
- Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal including writing policies
- Strong analytical skills and logical reasoning, to understand quantitative and qualitative benefits and drawbacks
- Experience working in financial services/insurance industry is an asset
- Familiarity with Ariba is an asset
- Flexibility for potential travel and global meetings at off hours.

The base salary for this position is between $96,000 - $146,000 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
