Manager, Investor Relations

We are seeking an experienced manager to join our Investor Relations team. The ideal candidate will spend the majority of their time in this role supporting Investor Relations deliverables related to quarterly financial reporting, as well as managing the company’s investor engagement efforts. In addition, the role involves conducting research on industry peers and investors, and providing analytical support as needed.

 

What you will do:

  • Market surveillance
    • Deliver concise insights & analysis taken from external sell side research and the synthesis of investors views
    • Monitor shareholder base for trends and insights, and develop analytics to inform targeting strategy and activities
    • Develop strategies to target new shareholders in domestic and international capital markets
  • Investor marketing
    • Draft presentations to external stakeholders, e.g. investor meetings, Investor Day, conferences, etc.), including preparation of slides
    • Compile other briefing materials, including investor profiles and Q&A documents
    • Coordinate logistics for investor roadshows and conferences.
    • Build relationships with Corporate Access and Institutional Equity Sales teams, leveraging the right broker for each market and/or prospective shareholder.
    • Contribute to the development of the annual marketing calendar, taking into account executive availability, shareholder targeting objectives, potential impact of each type of event, etc.
    • Manage content for IR website
  • External financial messaging
    • Support production of key Investor Relations deliverables related to quarterly reporting, including drafting analyst slides and conference call scripts
    • Review internal and external disclosure documents to ensure all financial and statistical information is accurate
    • Collaborate with the Financial Reporting team and other internal stakeholders to conduct due diligence of the Company’s public disclosures.
  • Peer benchmarking and industry surveillance
    • Conduct in-depth review of industry peers, including financial reporting, conference messaging and other external communications; monitor and communicate trends.
    • Draft reports to senior management, summarizing insights from analysis of industry and peers
    • Collect, review and analyze sell-side estimates.
    • Review, analyze and summarize sell-side analyst reports and financial models
    • Deliver concise insights and analysis taken from external sell side research
    • Maintain an up-to-date calendar reporting calendar for peers
  • Internal reports
    • Execute the data collection, analysis, and creation of periodic feedback reports about the Company’s share price, generate perception summaries from investor community interactions, consensus compilation and analyses and assisting with the financial forecasting process

 

What you will bring:

  • 5+ years of progressive work experience in accounting, finance or capital markets
  • Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting or actuarial science
  • Graduate degree (e.g. MBA) and/or a professional designation (e.g. CPA, CA, CFA) is an asset
  • Proficiency in business French is an asset
  • Prior investor relations experience – particularly in the financial sector is an asset
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong PowerPoint skills and proficiency in other MS Office applications
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg/Nasdaq/S&P/CapIQ/FactSet is an asset

 

 

The base salary for this position is between  $84,900 - $141,400 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
