The Lead Business Analyst in the Disability Modernization team plays a key role in the development of new core systems for the Disability operation. Working with business and technology partners to understand current state and desired strategic future state they then analyze, develop, and successfully deliver new technology and processes solutions that address the business need through long term projects with substantial business impact.
What You Will do:
- Champion the overall business analysis effort to modernize the Group Disability systems through leading the requirements gathering, analysis, and testing activities.
- Support project leadership in project planning, estimating, scoping, and development of material to help senior-level business stakeholders make informed decisions.
- Perform analysis on business problems through the lenses of people, process, and technology.
- Lead requirement and design work with both business and technology partners, creating high and detailed level requirements, documenting business rules, and writing user stories.
- Development of business process diagrams in BPMN 2.0 for current and future state.
- Manage stakeholder communication for deliverable reviews to ensure understanding and agreement.
- Provide expertise in ambiguous situations, identifying and resolving complex problems.
- Partners with Technology resources to ensure that solutions are consistent with technology direction or limitations.
- Facilitate implementation of new processes and technology solutions through development of KPIs, reference material, implementation plans, and change management plans.
- Provide training and guidance to business analysts on strategies, methods, processes, tools, approaches & methodologies.

- High proficiency with Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and CoPilot.
- Excellent communication skills with experience creating and leading presentations to senior leadership.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively gather requirements, obtain approvals, build relationships, and provide sufficient influence to achieve success.
- Creative problem solver that can break down complex problems into meaningful parts to identify and solve for improvement areas.
- Ability to analyze complex data to determine appropriate course of action towards objectives.
- Strong execution skills to support robust deployment of improvement and transformation opportunities in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to work with a high degree of detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing projects.
- Ability to work through ambiguity.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in business administration or analysis, computer science, or equivalent. experience or qualifications.
- 5 to 7 years in progressively senior business analyst roles.
- IIBA CBAP is an asset.
- Certification in Scrum, change management (Prosci), Lean Six Sigma, or project management (PMP) would be beneficial.
- Disability insurance knowledge is an asset.
- Reliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. This is a personal security status that is required as a condition of employment before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website. The cost of submitting these checks will be covered by Canada Life.

The base salary for this position is between $75,600 - $125,600 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
