Our award-winning Learning and Development team is looking for an Instructional Designer (ID). This role reports to Associate Manager, Instructional Design and Delivery. 

As an ID, you will design, develop, implement and/or measure employee and people leader initiatives aligned to the learning, performance, and strategic needs of the organization.  You will engage with project/initiative teams to help develop, execute, and sustain organizational change required for Canada Life and its employees to succeed. This role will be focused on supporting our Technology Division for Canada Life.


What you will do:
•    Participate in strategic Technology learning initiatives, including defining/validating appropriate success measures, reviewing needs assessment, developing plans to achieve, and managing all elements of the learning and/or technology stream.
•    Design, review, and shape learning deliverables in collaboration with subject matter experts, project stakeholders, and our Technology Learning Relationship Manager. 
•    Maintain a keen understanding of learning trends, developments, and best practices.
•    Drive and deliver operational excellence through sustainable program recommendations, formalized maintenance strategies, measurement and evaluation strategies.
•    Test and implement learning solutions in partnership with other team members, including accessibility and LMS testing. 

 What you will bring:
•    3+ years of experience working in a corporate, technology, or L&D environment, concentrated around learning, performance and/or learning project/program management.
•    Strong instructional design background, or experience designing learning and performance support assets.
•    Strong learning technology and graphic/visual design skills, ideally with experience designing in tools such as Articulate, Canva, Vyond, etc.  Experience with Microsoft applications is expected (PowerPoint, Word, Teams etc.)
•    Experience in a learning role supporting a Technology division/team. 
•    Experience using and/or building learning for the strategic portfolio and project management software Clarity is a great asset.
•    Excellent organizational and time management skills to effectively coordinate multiple deadlines.
•    Working with great autonomy while also embracing collaboration with team and project members to lead through ambiguity and deliver best learning outcomes and experiences for impacted audience.
•    Ideal education includes a post-secondary Degree/Diploma in HR Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A specialized learning and/or certificate (i.e. CTP/CTDP) is an asset.
•    Proven passion/interest in learning-related topics and activities, being a lifelong learner, with a drive for self-improvement.Proven passion/interest in learning-related topics and activities, being a lifelong learner, with a drive for self-improvement.
•    French and English is an asset in order to support clients from various jurisdictions.

The base salary for this position is between  $52,800 - $97,700 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
