Global Technology Strategy Intern (Student Position)

We are looking for a student to join our Great-West Lifeco Global Technology Strategy Team. You will be responsible for supporting the individuals in the team with their BAU/day to day tasks including but not limited to supporting the creation of slideware, creation of reports/updates, performing QA, data gathering and aggregation, SharePoint updates. You will also engage and collaborate with teams outside of Global Technology Strategy Team to gather inputs from various functions and teams.

 

What you will do

 

  • Work on Technology strategy initiatives with mentor(s) and senior leadership and support deliverables’ development
  • Support the team with gathering of data, slides, reports and relevant information from functional stakeholders and Global teams
  • Support the team in creation of slides, reports and dashboards. Help the individuals in the team with data inputs and analysis
  • Create a comprehensive story through presentations to help articulate complex topics in an ingestible manner
  • Assess the target state and breakdown the work into multiple milestones. Track against these milestones
  • Take meeting minutes for all Global forums and meetings and clearly list out actions that need to be addressed. Have a plan on when these actions will be addressed and by whom
  • Perform QA and review of different materials and submissions
  • Gather any questions and concerns teams may have and help solving for these concerns (timelines, materials, due dates etc.)
  • Work with mentor(s) in the team who will support and guide you to clarify your understanding of the approach and delivery
  • Upload documents on SharePoint and grant access to different stakeholders
  • In-person collaboration with different technology teams and leadership on projects and initiatives

 

What you will bring

  • You will bring an attitude to learn our business and how technology enables our business
  • 2 years of experience including experience with projects done during Degree/Diploma
  • Skillset in Microsoft suite of products. MS office (PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI etc.)
  • Have a point of view on Global and local technology trends and attributes
  • Creative and strategic thinking with analytical and problem-solving skills to identify meaningful solutions
  • Strong business acumen and Problem-solving and analytical capabilities
  • Effective communication and strong relationship building skills.
  • Well-developed organizational and time management skills

 

This position will be located in Toronto and requires to be in the office 3 days per week.

The base salary for this position is between  $43,600 - $65,300 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
