Disability Claims Administrator, Creditor (12 month contract)

We are hiring a Creditor Disability Claims Administrator to join our team in Toronto. In this role, you will manage all incoming creditor initial claims and requests via fax, phone, and email, ensuring claim contents are complete so that National Claims Staff can assess and process creditor life, critical illness, disability, and job loss claims within specified turnaround times.
Your responsibilities will include identifying new and recurring creditor claims, recording incoming mail, and distributing daily claim tasks to National Claims Staff on the same day they are received. You may also assist with sorting, matching, and mailing creditor claim cheques, system-generated and the creation of manual letters, and preparing courier envelopes for timely pickup. Additionally, you will send daily requests to creditors, claimants, and estates to obtain necessary documentation prior to adjudication, supporting the work of National Claims Staff.
What You Will Do:

Cross-train on all creditor products to provide support to the National Administration Team

Enter new claims and recurring mail information into the database mainframe for National Claims Staff processing

Handle all mail received through client mailboxes, fax, or portal and ensure timely delivery to National Claims Staff

Open and scan mail received through post for National Claims Staff review

Receive and respond to incoming emails, escalating to National Claims Staff when required

Correspond with claimants and estates (including telephone conversations) on behalf of National Claims Staff

Liaise with creditors (banks) to support National Claims Staff adjudication processes

Prepare and manage system-generated letters and create manual letters as needed

Ensure all courier packages are ready for pickup at the appropriate time for National Claims Staff

- Reliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. This is a personal security status that is required as a condition of employment before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website. The cost of submitting these checks will be covered by Canada Life.

The base salary for this position is between $43,300-$58,600 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
