We are looking for a Director, Technology Governance, Canada & Great-West Lifeco.
This Director role will be a key member of the Global Technology Strategy & Governance team, focused on end-to-end reporting aggregation across different segments and geographies, data analytics and management of Governance forums. This role will be Global CIO facing role and will partner with the Global CIO on their deliverables and materials for different meetings, forums and councils. This leadership role has broad scope and will have the opportunity to work horizontally with leads from all lines of business across the Lifeco group of operating companies.
What You Will Do
Reporting into the VP, Strategy & Governance, you will own the overall governance framework and its execution. You will be responsible for day to day reporting aggregation, quarterly collection and review process, regulatory submissions and interactions, future state development of aggregation solutions.
- Deliver on quarterly reporting aggregation process from developing structure for upcoming quarterly submissions to taking it through all the quarterly review forums at CIO and CEO level
- Develop story and decks on key topics identified by the Global technology strategy and governance team and/or the Global CIO and CISO
- Deliver on weekly, monthly and quarterly materials required for different forums, meetings and councils
- Drive change across 4 different segments including change and updates to submission materials, reported metrics and processes for multiple deliverables
- Develop relationship with all 3 lines of defence and act as a face plate for the Global Technology Strategy team for any engagements with these lines of defence.
- Support on initiatives that deliver on our ultimate target state of technology business management while developing mechanisms which will focus on visibility into performance of our priorities
- Provide support, advice and consultancy to multiple Global teams while collaborating and coordinating within a matrix setting.
- Break down different key projects and big tasks into smaller milestones and measure performance against these milestones
What You Will Bring
- Positive attitude and a drive to bring the change organization wide
- 7+ years of previous experience in operating within unstructured and ambiguous environments and Global matrix settings.
- 10+ years of Strategy, Governance, experience in any of the Big 4 consulting firms and/or Global and governance experience
- Must know how to influence leaders in different segments and regions as well as extended functional teams and groups while
- 10+ years of people management and team building experience is a must
- 10+ years of data aggregation, data automation, data management process etc.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in data and analytics including but not limited to reporting and automation tools, Power applications and solutions
- PMP or an equivalent certification is preferred
- Business and technical acumen along with understanding of how technology operates at a Global level working with different countries and segments is an asset
- University Degree in Computer Science, Business or Finance & related designation
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; Proficient in PowerPoint
- Understanding of different tooling and data methodologies and ecosystem
- Creative and strategic thinking with proven analytical and problem-solving skills to identify meaningful solutions
- Strong business acumen and experience in finance or expense management and planning
- Effective communication and strong relationship building skills.
- Well-developed organizational and time management skills
This position will be located in Toronto and requires to be in the office up to 3 days per week..

The base salary for this position is between $99,800 - $166,300 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
