The Associate Manager, Search Engine Optimization and Answer Engine Optimization plays a key role in how Canada Life is discovered across traditional search engines and emerging AI‑powered answer platforms. This role brings together technical Search Engine Optimization, content strategy, and AI visibility, working closely with content, analytics, and business partners to improve discoverability, relevance, and trust at critical moments for Canadians.

 

You will support the evolution of our organic growth strategy, moving beyond keyword‑led optimization toward intent and answer‑driven visibility. Your work will help ensure Canada Life content performs effectively across search engines, and AI platforms.

 

What you will do:

  • Own and execute Search Engine Optimization and Answer Engine Optimization initiatives that improve organic visibility across search engines and AI-powered answer platforms
  • Translate customer intent, search data, and emerging LLM prompt patterns into actionable content and optimization recommendations
  • Partner with content teams to shape briefs, on-page structure, and semantic coverage aligned to commercial and informational intent
  • Support technical Search Enging Optimization efforts including crawling, indexing, internal linking, structured data, and page performance best practices 
  • Monitor and report on Search Engine Optimization and Answer Engine Optimization initiative performance to key stakeholders
  • Conduct competitive analysis to identify content gaps, authority opportunities, and areas where Canada Life can lead
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, legal, and compliance teams to enable scalable, compliant content delivery
  • Contribute to testing, experimentation, and continuous improvement as search and AI platforms evolve

 

What you will bring:

  • 2-5 years of experience in Search Engine Optimization, content optimization, or digital marketing within a large or regulated organization 
  • Strong understanding of modern Search Engine Optimization fundamentals (technical, content, authority) and curiosity about AI/LLM-driven discovery
  • Experience working with search performance data and turning insights into clear recommendations
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas simply to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience leveraging Search Engine Optimization and analytics tools to inform decisions and recommendations, including Google Search Console, Looker Studio, Analytics (Adobe, Google), and SEO platforms such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, or similar enterprise tools
  • Experience with Office 365 suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Outlook, etc.,)
  • Strong analytical mindset paired with customer-centric thinking

The base salary for this position is between $71,900 - $119,800 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
