Client Advisory Services (CAS) is a core driver of Canada Life’s long‑term growth, working alongside our Workplace, Wealth and Insurance businesses to provide clients and plan members with personalized advice and meaningful solutions. We’re focused on building deeper relationships with end-clients and plan members by expanding opportunities through employee advisors. Our team brings together several specialized teams—Freedom Experience (licensed retirement and insurance specialists), Financial Solutions Centre & Continuum (collaborative, team‑based financial advice), and Pinnacle (advisor succession and business transition support).

We’re hiring an AVP, Client Advisory Retirement & Savings, reporting to the SVP, Client Advisory Services to lead a growing business focused on delivering strong earnings performance and an exceptional plan member experience. In this role, you will oversee a large team, strengthen our plan member advice strategy, and drive annual sales plans that support long‑term growth. You will own the plan member relationship and collaborate closely with leaders across cross-functional teams to advance execution and deliver strong results.

 

What will you do: 

  • Lead a team with a strong client and advice focused culture, supporting long‑term business growth.
  • Manage and continuously improve our plan member retirement rollover strategy to strengthen performance and plan member outcomes.
  • Develop and execute annual sales plans that drive consistent, sustainable results.
  • Own end‑to‑end plan member relationships, ensuring a seamless and high‑quality experience.
  • Identify and implement continues improvement performance opportunities that enhance advice effectiveness, efficiency and client impact.
  • Monitor competitive trends and bring forward best practices to support growth and innovation.
  • Partner closely with leaders across GRS, Operations, Marketing, Performance, Compliance, and Technology to ensure strong alignment and coordinated execution.

 

What you will bring 

  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in financial services, retirement, wealth, or sales‑driven environments and a good comfort level using AI tools
  • Proven ability to deliver growth or earnings targets through strong sales leadership and disciplined execution.
  • Experience leading teams and building a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong strategic thinking and commercial mindset, with the ability to translate insights into clear actions and measurable results.
  • Demonstrated success improving sales processes, optimizing conversion, or strengthening client engagement.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills, with experience working across functions such as Operations, Marketing, Performance, Compliance, and Technology.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clarity, drive alignment, and influence decision‑making in a matrixed environment.
  • Change leadership capability, with experience implementing new processes, models, or strategies at team or business‑unit scale.
