Assistant Manager, Mortgage Closing | Great West

We are seeking an Assistant Manager to join our growing Mortgage Operations Closing team.   This team plays a critical role within Great-West Life's Mortgage Investments business, acting as the central hub that brings together Origination, Legal, borrowers, external counsel, and other stakeholders to ensure commercial mortgage transactions are successfully closed and funded. This group is responsible for managing the end-to-end closing process for a diverse portfolio of commercial mortgage investments while maintaining a strong focus on risk management, compliance, operational excellence, and client service.

 

What you will do:

 

Transaction Management
•    Manage commercial mortgage closings from commitment acceptance through funding.
•    Coordinate stakeholders and resolve issues to ensure timely closings.

 

Risk & Compliance
•    Review legal and due diligence documentation.
•    Ensure compliance with regulatory and lending requirements.

 

Collaboration & Process Improvement
•    Partner with internal and external stakeholders throughout the closing process.
•    Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, processes, and documentation.

 

Administration
•    Reconcile mortgage loan files and maintain complete transaction records.


What you will bring:

•    Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field. 
•    Minimum 5 years of commercial mortgage closing experience, including funding and closing loan transactions; experience with commercial construction mortgage closings is an asset. 
•    Strong knowledge of real estate lending practices, loan documentation, and closing processes. 
•    Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. 
•    Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills, with exceptional attention to detail. 
•    Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and handle fluctuating workloads. 
•    Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. 
•    Adaptable, flexible, and responsive to changing business needs. 
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with strong technical aptitude and experience using operational and tracking systems. 
•    Solid accounting and mathematical skills. 
•    Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, and a commitment to accuracy and quality in work.

The base salary for this position is between $71,400.00 - $107,100.00 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
