Account Manager, Group Benefits

The Account Manager, Group Benefits will be focused on the growth of their Group Benefits block. This will include business development activities such as the maintenance and further development of productive relationships with Benefits Advisors and group policy holders, acquisition of new business and new advisory relationships, and management of accounts of an in‑force business portfolio. The business development tasks will provide an opportunity for the candidate to work with a dynamic team to reach or exceed the objectives–sales, profitability, renewal, and persistency targets. 

 

What you will do

 

  • Develop deep rooted business relationships with both current and new Benefit Advisors, to achieve annual sales, persistency, retention and other targets

  • Focus on relationship management both internally and externally.

  • Work closely with Benefit Advisors throughout the sales process and life cycle of a policy.  From time of quote and/ or presentation, to time of sale and renewal

  • Ability to problem solve a variety of items from customer satisfaction to large financial decisions.

  • Assist in the development of Benefit Advisors.  Inclusive but not limited to, product and financial arrangement knowledge, Canada Life specific products and market strengths, and business solutions

 

 

What you will bring

 

  • Ideally 2+ years of experience in the field of group insurance and thorough knowledge of group life insurance, healthcare insurance, disability insurance, and underwriting

  • Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written with an enthusiasm for doing presentations

  • Excellent mathematical skills

  • Undergraduate diploma or equivalent ideal

  • Ability to act quickly and put forward innovative solutions

  • Ability to work and adapt in a fast‑ paced and evolving environment

  • Strong sales and interpersonal skills as well as motivation to achieve business objectives

  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle, given the travel needs

  • Designation of C.A.A.S. [certified group benefits advisor], GBA (Group Benefits Associate), or CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) is a significant asset

The base salary for this position is between $59,250 - $98,750 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
