AVP Enterprise Planning & Performance Management

Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: Toronto, Winnipeg.

 

We are looking for an AVP Enterprise Financial Planning & Analysis.

 

Role description:

Reporting to the VP, Enterprise FP&A, the AVP  will own the enterprise-wide integrated planning process as well as performance management.

 

What you will do:

  • Accountable for the timely and quality delivery of the annual 5-year financial plan to the Great-West Lifeco Board of Directors, including using judgement to incorporate a wide range of input from senior executives and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Advise senior leaders (namely Group CFO) on Planning targets, requirements, central assumptions, timetable and process improvements
  • Acts as trusted consultant to senior leadership, through flawless execution on ad hoc analytical requests
  • Own, design and enhance enterprise-wide Performance Management approach
  • Provides thought leadership and analysis for the ongoing review and updates to incentive programs to ensure optimal alignment with organizational strategy and the financial plan.
  • Leads stakeholder engagement across Segments and relevant corporate Functions (namely Treasury, Capital, Actuarial, Asset Liability Matching, Investments, Risk, Human Resources, Investor Relations)
  • Actively engage with Finance Modernization Project Teams to ensure the outcomes will meet the Planning and Performance Management needs of the organization in the future
  • Assesses and adopts tools as appropriate to enhance or automate work processes and elevate the function overall
  • Coaches and develops more junior members of FP&A team

 

Knowledge & Expertise:

  • 10+ years of experience in the financial services sector, preferably in insurance and/or wealth management, including in corporate role(s) requiring engagement with senior executives
  • Business-related Master’s degree
  • CPA or CFA designation, an asset
  • Client service mindset and consulting skills
  • Knowledge and experience with planning and forecasting tools
  • Strong Microsoft Suite skills
  • Strong analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated credibility and professionalism in effectively articulating complex issues
  • Ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong people leader experience building a high functioning team

The base salary for this position is between  $111,000- $205,500 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
