The New Business Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end case management of life new business applications. This role ensures that all requirements are met for underwriting of the new policy, and performs regular follows up throughout the process with insurance carrier partners.  


What you will do 

 

  • Provide case management to the assigned advisor ensuring that SLAs (Service Level Agreements) are met
  • Critically review applications submitted, communicate with advisors for missing or incomplete information, and proactively address potential issues in order to promote an efficient new business process
  • Order all medical requirements depending on the circumstances of the case 
  • Regularly and timely follow up regarding pending business cases
  • Maintain regular communication between carriers and advisors throughout underwriting process to completion  
  • Ensure advisors receive clear and consistent communication regarding pending cases
  • Work extensively with back office systems, WealthServ, as well as insurance carrier websites
  • Update and maintain WealthServ system with current information at all times
  • Responsible for maintaining an organized filing system for easy referral and retrieval 
     

What you will bring  

 

  • Completion of Post-Secondary School, or equivalent  
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in the insurance and financial services industry considered an asset
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Office applications  
  • Knowledge of WealthServ an asset
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Communicates effectively (internally and externally)
  • Customer service mindset
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to work in an ever-changing environment

The base salary for this position is between $45,600 - $68,400 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
