We are looking for a permanent part-time (.6) Nursing Specialist to join our Medical and Dental Claims Management team which is part of our larger Workplace Solutions organization. Our current work environment supports a Hybrid-Flex work arrangement that includes some rotational in-office & work from home capability.
As a Nursing Specialist, you will report to a Supervisor – Medical and Dental Claims Management. The Nursing Specialist will provide guidance and instruction to various stakeholders within Group Customer related to nursing policies, procedures, and practices. The individual will support assessment of home nursing claims.
What you will do:

Review and respond to plan member requests for In-Home Nursing Coverage

Determine coverage based on contract provisions

Answer general questions regarding the nursing coverage application process

Provide medical consulting to the Medical and Dental Claims Management team

Support the Drug Claims Management team with Prior Authorization drug applications

Support on project work and policy development as needed
What you will bring:
-
Must be a Registered Nurse, with a minimum of two years’ recent case management experience in a business setting, home care nursing, in a hospital environment or a provincial home care program.

Previous exposure to working in a business environment is an asset

Current registration with your provincial Nursing Association

Experience in palliative care, critical care and pediatric care in a home-nursing environment is an asset

Strong analytical and organizational skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently

Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Work and Excel is required

Bilingual English and French is an asset

Reliability Status security clearance - this is a personnel security status that is required before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website.

The base salary for this position is between $52,800.00 - $97,700.00 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
