We are looking for a Temporary Disability National Trainer (12-month contract) to support the development of new Disability Case Managers across Canada. In this role, you will play a key part in helping new case managers build the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to assess disability claims effectively.

If you’re passionate about adult learning, coaching, and helping others succeed — and you have experience in disability case management — this is an opportunity to truly shape the next generation of case managers.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver engaging training to new Disability Case Managers in all aspects of disability assessment and management
  • Facilitate live training sessions for new hires
  • Conduct comprehensive STD and LTD claim decision reviews, providing detailed and constructive feedback to developing case managers
  • Identify learner strengths, challenges, and training needs, escalating concerns to Disability Management Services Offices (DMSO) leadership when appropriate
  • Collaborate with DMSO leaders and mentors to ensure clarity in roles and smooth transitions from training to live claims
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and learner progress using established tools and feedback methods
  • Support and strengthen the mentoring program by working closely with DMSO mentors

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of disability claim management experience
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, or supporting employee development
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Confidence facilitating both individual and group learning
  • Excellent organization, time management, and problem‑solving abilities
  • Comfort using technology and digital learning tools
  • Experience in a training, facilitation, or adult education role is an asset
  • Adult Education certificate/diploma/degree is an asset
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and practice is an asset
  • As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism is an asset (fluent in French and English) but is required for Quebec only as the position will regularly serve our clients with French and English-speaking needs.
  • Reliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. This is a personal security status that is required as a condition of employment before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada  website.  The cost of submitting these checks will be covered by Canada Life.

Who Thrives in This Role

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Enjoys helping others excel and grow in their careers
  • Can break down complex disability concepts into clear, practical learning
  • Is patient, empathetic, and enjoys coaching people through challenges
  • Works well in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Values collaboration with leaders, mentors, and partners across Canada

The base salary for this position is between $65,600 - $98,400 annually.
