Coordination & Communication Assistant (Student Position)

This is a student position that is 4 months in duration for the term:  May-August. You must be a student registered in a Canadian College or University. 

This position is for students returning to school after their work term or requiring a placement as requirements for graduation. While not required, preference will be given to students enrolled in a registered Co-op program.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented summer student to join us as a Coordination & Communication Assistant to support key initiatives underway within Canada Operations – Insurance Operations. Reporting to management, you will help coordinate activities, support communications, assist with performance tracking, and collaborate across multiple internal teams.

 

This role is ideal for a Business Administration or Commerce student looking to gain practical experience in operations, project coordination, and corporate communications.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordination of Operational Initiatives (40%) 
    • Support planning and tracking of ongoing projects and initiatives.
    • Assist with meeting coordination: agendas, notes, follow-ups.
    • Monitor timelines, deliverables, and risks.
  • Communications & Documentation Support (25%)
    • Draft internal communications, summaries, and presentations.
    • Update and maintain project documentation and shared resources.
    • Assist with preparing leadership updates and reports.
  • Performance Tracking & Reporting (20%)
    • Collect and organize data for KPI tracking.
    • Prepare dashboards and summary reports.
    • Identify trends or issues based on operational data.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration (15%)
    • Support coordination and communication across multiple internal teams.
    • Help prepare materials for working groups and leadership meetings.

 

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor of Business Administration, Commerce, Operations Management, or similar university program.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English (French is an asset).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams).
  • Ability to create clear summaries and documentation.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative.
  • As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism is an asset (fluent in French and English) but is required for Quebec only as the position will regularly serve our clients with French and English-speaking needs.  

 

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience in project coordination, student leadership, or administrative work.
  • Interest in operations, reporting, or continuous improvement.

The base salary for this position is between  $45,600 - $68,400 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.

 

For our student opportunities, the base salary will be dependent on the number of work terms you have completed along with other factors depending on your program.
