Role description

We are looking for a skilled Account Executive, Group Benefits to promote the sale of Canada Life employee benefits products. Reporting to the Sales Director, Workplace Solutions, you will be part of the sales team and you will participate to annual sales objectives. The mandate requires the development of the relationships with consultants and the completion of all account management tasks, especially on financials.

What you will do:

  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with consultants ;
  • Completion of all account management tasks, especially on financials:
    • Evaluate risk and eligibility for employee benefit prospects;
    • Preparation and presentation of proposals to consultants or potential clients;
    • Preparation of annual renewal and financial reports;
    • Analyze and interpret data to prepare reports;
    • Prepare and analyze renewals and participate in their negotiation;
    • Identify amendment growth opportunities, prepare and execute ambitious and profitable pricing strategies;
    • Meetings to provide product, rate positioning, and technical expertise;
  • Propose and implement changes to existing procedures;
  • Actively promote marketing initiatives and sales ideas to build consultant interest and penetrate new markets ;
  • Ability to solve unusual or sensitive requests, financial problems for which no guidelines are available or to act in cases where a decision must be made quickly ;
  • Lead and grow a consultant and client customer base, maintaining a balance between sales and pricing requirements ;
  • Liaise with the head office underwriting, claims, marketing and distribution departments to assist with your goal of driving premium revenue ;
  • Collaborate with a local service and administrative team to execute the team’s business plan.

 

What you will bring:

  • University degree, preferably in commerce, finance, business administration or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the financial services/absence services/employee benefit industry
  • Group Insurance Plan Advisor License is required or needs to be obtained within 3/4 months of hiring
  • Demonstrated success in sales or the marketing of employee benefit products is an asset
  • Work ethic that demonstrates you are results-oriented, a motivated self-starter, career-focused, dynamic with strong organizational skills
  • Skilled at relationship building
  • Good communicator with the ability to present in French and in English, train and transfer knowledge to a variety of audiences
  • Analytical and decision making skills
  • Excellent teamwork, negotiation and communication skills
  • This role is located in the region of Quebec; travel throughout the region will be required
  • Driving license is required

The base salary for this position is between  $65,400 - $114,500 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
