The Business Development Consultant, working in collaboration with the regional sales team, is responsible to achieve sales targets by providing both reactive and proactive support to advisors. A key connector within the sales team the Business Development Consultant develops and maintains industry and product knowledge, keeping abreast of changes and new product offerings to support sales growth and enhance the advisor experience.
What You Will Do
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the top 100 Tier A and B advisor firms to identify sales and growth opportunities for DGDA.
- Lead regular business reviews and provide tailored insights through data analysis and reporting.
- Deliver training on sales strategies, industry trends, and digital tools to advisor firms and internal sales teams.
- Coordinate onboarding and system training for new advisor firms in collaboration with head office teams.
- Act as the go-to contact for tactical support, issue resolution, and escalation management.
- Support marketing initiatives by identifying relevant advisors for events, webinars, and targeted campaigns.
- Facilitate advisor transitions, including succession planning and business handovers.
- Guide advisors through internal processes, insurer timelines, and contracting or access changes.
- Collaborate with Compliance and Recoveries teams to support advisors under review or with outstanding balances.
- Stay up to date on industry developments and product offerings to enhance advisor experience and drive sales growth.
- Deliver advisor support through training, case consultation, and business development in partnership with outside sales.
- Identify and develop high-potential advisors with proactive strategies and product expertise.
What You Will Bring
- Post-secondary education or equivalent professional experience in insurance or financial services.
- Bilingualism (French, English) is required to answer calls from French and English speaking customers across Canada
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in the insurance and financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of permanent life insurance concepts and industry best practices.
- Proven ability to consistently meet strategic business goals and deliver results.
- High emotional intelligence with the ability to influence, build trust, and foster strong relationships.
- Passion for delivering exceptional service and creating meaningful client connections.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying current on industry trends and product updates.
- A Criminal Record and Credit background check is mandatory as a condition of employment

The base salary for this position is between $58,600 - $97,700 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
