Sr Reinsurance Treaties Inforce Analyst - 18 Month Contract

Role Description

 

The Reinsurance Treaties team is within Insurance Solutions at Canada Life. The primary purpose of this role is to address the reinsurance needs for our individual insurance business by working with our reinsurance partners on reinsurance agreements.  The Senior Reinsurance Treaties Inforce Analyst works with the Associate Manager Reinsurance Treaties & Analysis to ensure that treaties are maintained and up to date as per our internal risk and compliance standards. The will also provides backup assistance to the Reinsurance Technical Analyst on non-contractual changes.

 

What you will do:

  • Coordinate interdepartmental reviews of reinsurance treaty agreements prior to signing.
  • Maintain and update Treaty Summaries.
  • Oversee a database of treaties and treaty terms.
  • Identify issues associated with inforce business both historic and newly placed.
  • Provide samples requested by various auditors, as well as, explaining our processes.
  • Assist in providing approval request for non contractual change request.
  • Support migration efforts from older legacy systems to Ingenium and TAI.

What you will bring:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to cope with deadlines.
  • Policy Administration system knowledge (e.g. TAI) and MS software knowledge (e.g. Excel, Access).
  • Attention to detail and the need for accuracy is critical.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently and solve problems.
  • Previous work experience in an insurance/financial services field an asset.

Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: London, Toronto and Winnipeg.

The base salary for this position is between $50,400 - $83,900 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
