We are seeking a Specialist, People Protection & Risk Intelligence to play a critical role in safeguarding senior leaders, key personnel, and other designated individuals. This role is part of a broader commitment to protecting people, enabling business continuity, and fostering a safe, resilient environment where individuals can perform at their best.

This role directly supports the safety, confidence, and effectiveness of key individuals whose work has a broad organizational impact. By delivering thoughtful, professional protection services, you help create an environment where leaders can focus on strategic priorities, knowing their safety is in capable hands.

You will play a critical role in shaping how business solutions are defined, tested, and delivered, working on meaningful initiatives that improve efficiency, enable modernization, and drive real business impact.

The successful candidate will bring sound judgment, discretion, and a proactive mindset, balancing protective intelligence, planning, and operational execution. You will work closely with internal partners and external stakeholders to assess risk, design protective strategies, and deliver professional, unobtrusive protection services aligned with organizational values.

What will you do:

  • Deliver enhanced people protection services for designated individuals, including executive protection, secure transportation, and protective presence, as required
  • Lead country and regional risk assessments to guide employee travel, enhance event security, and shape corporate decision-making through concise geopolitical analysis supporting global conferences, events, and senior leadership engagements.
  • Produce intelligence briefings, travel briefings, protective intelligence advisories, and threat profiling reports
  • Conduct threat, risk, and vulnerability assessments related to people protection and translate findings into practical, scalable protective measures
  • Develop and implement individualized protection plans that consider business objectives, personal routines, travel, and emerging risk factors
  • Support domestic and international travel through ‘advance’ work, route planning, venue assessments, and coordination with local partners
  • Monitor open-source intelligence and relevant information sources to identify potential threats and emerging risks
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as Corporate Physical Security, Crisis Management, Corporate Properties, HR, Legal, and Executive Offices to ensure integrated protection strategies
  • Liaise with law enforcement, security vendors, and government agencies as appropriate
  • Maintain detailed documentation, reports, and post‑incident reviews to support continuous improvement
  • Contribute to the evolution of people protection standards, procedures, and training within the organization
  • Some domestic and international travel is required to support board meetings and events.

What will you bring:

  • Proven experience in executive protection, dignitary protection, law enforcement, military, or corporate security environments
  • Experience conducting Threat and Risk Assessments (TRAs) for facilities, assets, or operations.
  • Strong risk assessment and decision‑making skills, with the ability to remain calm and effective in dynamic situations
  • Knowledge of travel risk and security intelligence platforms
  • High degree of professionalism, discretion, and integrity when working with sensitive information and senior leaders
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and work collaboratively
  • Physical and mental readiness to meet the demands of a protection role, including irregular hours and travel
  • Knowledge of protective intelligence, surveillance detection, and emergency response principles
  • Comfort operating in both independent and team‑based environments
  • Reliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. This is a personal security status that is required as a condition of employment before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada  website.  The cost of submitting these checks will be covered by Canada Life.

Nice to Have

  • Formal training or certifications in executive protection, close protection, protective services, travel risk, OSINT, or protective intelligence.
  • Familiarity in international affairs and geopolitical threat intelligence
  • Experience supporting international travel or operating in global environments
  • Background in intelligence analysis, threat management, or crisis response
  • First aid, CPR, AED, or advanced medical response certifications
  • Experienced in leveraging Microsoft 365 tools for communication, reporting, and collaboration.
