As a member of The Special Investigations Unit, you will work within the Fraud Management Team to investigate allegations of fraud and invalid claiming in group health and dental benefit plans.
What you will do:
- Develop and implement investigative plans that meet the standards required for criminal prosecution and/or civil action;
- Analyze financial records from internal and external sources;
- Obtain written and/or audio recorded statements from witnesses and subjects;
- Collect and preserve evidence;
- Conduct onsite provider evaluations at locations across Canada;
- Gather evidence utilizing undercover or covert techniques;
- Prepare investigative reports for senior management and regulatory bodies;
- Prepare disclosure reports and liaise with law enforcement;
- Present evidence in court and/or tribunals as required;
- Follow-up on the disposition of cases;
- Make recommendations for the improvement of procedures and internal controls
What you will bring:
- A minimum of 5 years investigative experience.
- Education/skills acquired through the completion of a post-secondary degree or equivalent;
- Strong investigative and interview skills;
- Working knowledge of the rules of evidence;
- Working knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada, Canada Evidence Act;
- Strong report writing skills;
- Excellent communication and organization skills;
- Experience in courtroom testimony is considered an asset;
- Knowledge of the Group Benefit Insurance industry is considered an asset;
- CFE or CFI designation is considered an asset;
- A background in law enforcement is a considered an asset;
- Bilingualism in both official languages is considered an asset;
- The ability to travel as needed. Candidates must be capable of working independently in various environments and possess the flexibility to respond to incidents or assignments outside of a regular office settings.
- Must possess the ability to be Protected- B security cleared as outlined by the government of Canada.
- Must possess a valid driver’s licence

The base salary for this position is between $52,800.00 - $97,700.00 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
