We are looking for a Senior Business Operations Specialist to join our Distribution Performance and Compensation team.
The Senior Business Operations Specialist plays a key role in supporting compensation activity for various Distribution channels across the organization. Reporting to the Manager, Distribution Compensation, this role is responsible for the processing and administration of compensation bonus programs and override rates as well as supporting the development of recommendations for various compensation programs and initiatives.
What you'll do:

- Perform complex calculations and accuracy validations associated with various bonus programs and related reports associated with advisor compensation and distribution field role compensation.
- Participate in modeling, simulation and analysis for new and existing compensation programs and strategies
- Review presentations, guides and policies related to compensation programs and support the operationalization of these programs.
- Service excellence – build and maintain relationships across the organization including varying levels of leadership; investigate and respond to inquiries timely and accurately
- Contribute to and actively promote the development, review and implementation of continuous improvement methods, practices and tools
- Ensure advisor and field leader facing compensation resource materials are up to date
- Aspire to become a subject matter expert on override rate activity and bonus compensation programs
- Act as a resource, collaborate with team members to develop and document processes and tools
- Work closely with colleagues within the Distribution Compensation team as well as other Head Office partners and Sales Distribution teams
- Act as a lead representative and participate in projects and initiatives in support of Distribution Compensation strategies and priorities.
- Rapidly acquire new knowledge, learn new skills, and apply innovative thinking to solve problems while demonstrating the department and organization’s vision, purpose, and values
What you'll bring:

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a compensation or related role.
- Post secondary degree / diploma in a Business Administration or Compensation discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including a demonstrated ability to understand, organize, and make sense of large data sets while ensuring high attention to detail.
- Intermediate to advanced level skills in Excel required. Working knowledge of macros / VBA, SQL and Power Query would be an asset. Must have working knowledge of basic Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Power Point.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, self-organize and prioritize deliverables through goal setting, time management and planning to ensure individual and team deadlines are met.

- Proven team player, strong written and oral communication skills, track record for delivering results with high degree of accuracy
- Working knowledge of Canada Life Distribution channel structures and reporting hierarchy is an asset, along with a basic understanding of field sales compensation elements

The base salary for this position is between $56,900.00 - $99,700.00 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
