The Canada Operations (CanOps) Business Delivery team is seeking a Senior Business Analyst for a 12 month contract to support strategic initiatives, operational excellence, and digital modernization. This role is accountable for end-to-end business analysis, from strategy and requirements through solution evaluation and Business Acceptance Testing (BAT), ensuring solutions deliver measurable business outcomes and operational readiness.

You will work closely with business leaders, delivery teams, and technology partners across Canada Life and change initiatives.

 

What You Will Do

  • Analyze current-state processes, operating models, and capabilities to identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Assess and recommend future-state solutions, including those enabled by emerging technologies (automation, analytics, workflow, low-code/no-code, AI-assisted capabilities).
  • Lead stakeholder engagement through workshops, interviews, and working sessions.
  • Define, document, and manage functional and non-functional requirements that are clear, testable, and traceable to business outcomes.
  • Maintain requirements lifecycle management, including prioritization, change control, and alignment to delivery.
  • Lead or support end-to-end Business Acceptance Testing (BAT) activities, including defining test strategies, acceptance criteria, and test scenarios.
  • Coordinate BAT execution, defect triage, and resolution with technology, QA, and vendor teams.
  • Validate solution readiness for go-live and support post-implementation outcomes.
  • Analyze data using tools such as Excel (including pivot tables) to inform insights and decisions.
  • Develop reporting, visualizations, and models to support operational and strategic planning.
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.

 

What You Bring

  • Degree in Business Administration or related field and/or IIBA certification (CBAP®, CCBA®); Lean Six Sigma an asset.
  • 3+ years’ experience in business analysis, process improvement, change delivery, or strategic initiatives.
  • Demonstrated application of IIBA/BABOK® competencies across the delivery lifecycle.
  • Proven experience supporting Business Acceptance Testing (BAT) or business-led testing.
  • Experience working with technology-enabled solutions (automation, analytics, workflow, digital platforms).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder-influencing skills.
  • Organized, adaptable, and comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments.
  • Knowledge of workflow, ETL, or data architecture beneficial.
  • Agile and/or Project Management certification is a nice to have.
  • Reliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. This is a personal security status that is required as a condition of employment before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada  website.  The cost of submitting these checks will be covered by Canada Life.

The base salary for this position is between $59,800 - $104,700 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
