Product Specialist Model Development - 6 Month Contract

Reporting to the Associate Manager, Par Dividend Management, you will be a member of the team responsible for the determination and generation of policyholder dividends for all GWL/LL/CL Canadian Participating Individual Life insurance policies. This role provides the technical support in development and maintaining the models used in the development of dividend rates and other related pricing analysis.  This role is located in London, ON.

 

What you will do 

  • Acting as key resource in development and maintenance of dividend scale models used in determination of dividend rates for all Canadian individual insurance participating blocks of business.
  • Support the Par Dividend Management team in developing technical solutions and process improvements, as well as client related information lookup on the administration system.
  • Support annual dividend scale review and rate generation, where required.
  • Uploading of rate files to administration systems, as well as validation and investigation of back-end datasets as needed.  
  • Development and support of miscellaneous projects for Par Projects team and Pricing team as needed (e.g. updating models for new product developments).

  

What you will bring 

  • Completion of post-secondary degree preferably related to Actuarial Science or similar.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access including VBA Programming.
  • Experience with Python programming considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written.
  • Actuarial related knowledge considered an asset.

The base salary for this position is between  $54,300 - $90,400 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
